Trains to Canterbury

There are 2 stations in Canterbury – West (CT2 8AN) and East (CT1 2RB).

To walk from either station to The Lodge is approx. 15 minutes.

There are taxi ranks at each station – or these could be booked in advance.

There will be a Lions' shuttle bus running between Canterbury West station and the Convention venue - see details below.

PARKING

Canterbury Cathedral Lodge

The Lodge has a small number of parking places within the Cathedral Precincts. However these have now been allocated.

Others who have booked Lodge accommodation, and are arriving by car, can advise Chloe Wright (01227-866204) of their registration numbers. The Cathedral Constables will then allow entry to the Precincts for the purpose of unloading luggage.

Parking vouchers can be purchased from Reception for £13.50 per 24hr period. These are valid in 9 car parks across the City using ANPR technology.

Hampton by Hilton

This hotel has no on-site parking but has a partnership with Whitefriars Shopping Centre (CT1 2UA) which is located behind the hotel (0.1 Miles/2 min walk max)

Vehicles can park at a discounted rate when paid for at the hotel reception. This is a covered and secured car park with a maximum height of 2.1 metres.

Upon arrival at Whitefriars, take a ticket at the barrier, park your vehicle, and proceed to the hotel. At Reception provide your registration number to the hotel team who will validate their parking. The charge is £25 per car per night.

Canterbury West Station

Parking is also available at the Canterbury West Railway station at a reasonable rate for day delegates. The Train station is located at CT2 8AN and is about a 15 minute walk to the Conference centre.

Canterbury Park and Ride

Canterbury has 3 Park and Ride services available running every 8 to 10 minutes approx. on 7 days a week. The parking cost is £4 per day. There are no buses that run through the main centre of Canterbury but all of the Park and Ride services go into the city by Whitefriars Shopping Centre - which is the final destination. It is then a short walk of 7 to 10 minutes to the Convention venue. The 3 Park and Ride car parks are at New Dover Road, Sturry Road and Wincheap Park. The Sturry Road Park and Ride service has a stop at the Magistrates Court which is one stop before the city centre. It is then also a short walk of 7 to 10 minutes to the Convention venue.

Details of these and services are available on their website - https://www.canterbury.gov.uk/parking-and-roads/park-and-ride
